This page explains how to request deletion of your COSMIQ account and saved learning progress, including the retention limits explained below. COSMIQ is published by Ajaykumar Reddy Velagala.
Option 1 — delete it yourself, in the app
The app requests deletion online. Keep a connection available and follow any error or retry message before assuming the request is complete.
- Open COSMIQ.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Manage data, then Delete COSMIQ account.
- Answer the short parent check, then confirm.
That erases the progress saved on the device and the copy saved for your account, removes the name and age entered at setup, signs you out, and requests revocation of the permission you granted COSMIQ when you signed in. Follow any revocation error shown by the app. Any other device signed in to the account clears its copy the next time it connects.
The same menu also has Reset learning progress, which erases the saved progress but keeps you signed in and keeps the name and age. Use Delete COSMIQ account if you want the account gone as well.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
If you have already uninstalled COSMIQ, or you cannot get to the app for any reason, email us and we will delete it for you:
Please send it from the email address you used to sign in to COSMIQ, and write “COSMIQ account deletion request” in the subject so we can find it quickly. You do not need to reinstall the app.
We action requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Badges, XP, streak, quiz and game scores | Deleted permanently, on the device and on our server |
| The identifier linking your progress to your sign-in | A hashed account identifier remains with the deletion marker. Linked sign-in mappings follow a separate cleanup rule described below; they are not immediately erased. |
| Your Google or Apple sign-in connection | Revocation is requested. Follow any error shown by the app if the provider cannot complete it. |
| Your child's first name and age | Never left the device in the first place. Delete COSMIQ account removes them from the device |
What we cannot delete
- Your subscription. Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, not by us. To cancel or request a refund, use Subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account. Deleting your COSMIQ account does not cancel a subscription, and cancelling a subscription does not delete your account.
- Your Google or Apple account. We can only remove COSMIQ's access to it.
Data we keep briefly, and why
When progress is deleted we keep a short marker recording that a deletion happened, with no progress attached to it. It exists so that another device you were signed in on erases its copy too, instead of uploading the old progress back. It is linked to an account identifier and is personal information even without a name. Scheduled cleanup removes markers older than 90 days. Deleting the account also ends every sign-in session it had on other devices and removes its protected-download registrations. The mapping from your sign-in to your purchase is kept so a later sign-in can find the purchase again; it is removed once no sign-in of the account has been used for about two years. Backups of saved progress are deleted after 30 days. Store and subscription-service records and hosting logs are separate from learning progress. Contact us about deletion of those records; the in-app action does not erase every provider record immediately.
